Gather, Craft, Celebrate: A Holiday Night with The Salty Sisters

This holiday season, I had the pleasure of hosting a festive and creative Christmas ornament event in collaboration with The Salty Sisters, a local charcuterie business known for their incredible attention to detail and delicious offerings. As a quilt artist, I wanted to share an activity that resonated with my passion. So, I chose a quilted star ornament tutorial inspired by a guest quilter on Suzy Quilts, Lydia Nicholson. The Salty Sisters went above and beyond to transform their space into a holiday wonderland. The evening’s ambiance was set by a stunning tablescape featuring fresh pine greenery and glittering decorations, perfectly complemented by a disco-themed photo wall that added a touch of whimsy and sparkle. It was the ideal setting for creativity and connection.

Ornaments made by attendees!

The ornament project was a hit! Each participant brought their own unique flair to the quilted star design, which was simple enough for beginners but allowed for plenty of personalization. Laughter and good conversation filled the room as everyone worked on their ornaments, exchanging tips and sharing stories.

Of course, an event with the Salty Sisters would only be complete with their signature charcuterie. They served an exceptional spread of cheeses, cured meats, fruits, and other delights arranged beautifully. Paired with the cozy craft activity, their culinary expertise elevated the evening into something truly magical.

By the end of the night, everyone left with a beautiful handmade ornament, a heart full of holiday cheer, and perhaps a new favorite craft. It was a joyful reminder of the power of gathering together, sharing creativity, and celebrating the season in style.

If you're looking for a fun and festive craft this holiday season, I highly recommend checking out the quilted star ornament tutorial by Lydia Nicholson.
